TERRY OSMOND (nee VAN MIERLO) Following a courageous battle with Cancer, Terry passed away at home on October 22, 2011 in the arms of her loving husband Dave. She will be deeply missed by her husband Dave, their daughter Robyn (Rui), son Tyler, and grandson Ashton. Also left to cherish her memory is her mother Miep, her brother Ron (Lynn), their children Ryan (Danielle) and Michele, as well as many uncles, aunts, and cousins both in Canada and in the Netherlands. Terry was predeceased by her father Cornelis. Terry had a wonderful childhood growing up in Great Falls, and graduated from Lac du Bonnet Senior School in 1978. She often reminisced about her great childhood memories, childhood friends, and summers at the dock'. Following her high school sweetheart Dave, the family moved to Gillam for ten years where the entire family made many lifelong friendships and Terry took on the task of homemaker very seriously. Creating an inviting home environment with her big smile, laugh, and happy attitude, it was common for her children to be joined by their friends at home for lunch, after school and on weekends. Terry loved animals and was also mom to any small animals that may have wandered into her yard. Animals always came first, because as she told us they can't speak for themselves' so she provided a voice to the voiceless animals in her life. Travelling was always an important part of her life. She returned to the Netherlands several times to visit family, and aimed to travel as often as possible. When her children were older, her family was proud of her when she followed her lifelong dream and worked for several years as a flight attendant with Canada 3000. Following that adventure she worked for the Manitoba Liquor Commission, finally retiring' in 2006 to return to her love of homemaking, with the constant companionship of her beloved Newfoundland, Gander' and cherished visits with her grandson. A celebration of her life was held Friday, October 28 at 2:00 p.m., at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
